The JEE 2012 has turned out to be tougher than what most people expected. Most people were expecting it to be easier than 2011, but most agree it was tougher and quite a few even say it was of same level as 2010. According to Kapil Sibal the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology of the country will prepare questions papers for the ISEET 2013 entrance exam. This is the first time when the government has decided to hold a common entrance test for all IITs, NITs of the country rather than conducting individual tests for them. The successor to the JEE and AIEEE — for long the gateways to India’s top engineering colleges including the IITs — will be called ISEET, the Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test.As reported by The Indian Express on January 31, the new, SAT-style exam comes into force in 2013. HRD Minister Kapil Sibal was hinting for a national level common engineering entrance test from 2013. The idea is to include all engineering colleges under the common entrance test (including IITs and NITs); but for now it looks like only NITs, IITs & IIITs might be included in the first year of the test launch. The Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) have given their approval to the proposed single national level entrance examination for admission to undergraduate programme for science and engineering.
