National Institute of Technology was established in June 1961. It is named after India’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, therefore, commonly addressed as SVNIT.

The following are the post graduate courses (M.Tech) based on GATE scores:

    * Civil Engineering

          o Environment Engineering

          o Water Resource Engg.

          o Structural Engineering

          o Soil Mechanics & Foundation Engg.

          o Planning

          o Transportation Engg & Planning

    * Mechanical Engineering

          o Turbo Machines

          o Mechanical Engineering

          o Industrial Process Equipment Design

          o Thermal Systems Design

          o CAD - CAM

    * Chemical Engineering

    * Computer Engineering

    * Applied Mechanics (Structural Engineering & Geotechnical Engineering)

Eligibility criteria for M.Tech:

1. NON - SPONSORED CANDIDATES (with GATE score):

a) GENERAL CATEGORY/OBC CATEGORY:

• B.E. / B. Tech or equivalent degree in respective discipline with minimum of 50% aggregate (all semesters/years) marks or (CGPA 5.5) and

• Possessing valid GATE score.

b) RESERVED SC/ST CATEGORY

• B.E. / B. Tech or equivalent degree in respective discipline with minimum of 45% aggregate (all semesters/years) marks or (5.0 CGPA) and

• Possessing valid GATE score.

Note: The admission will be given based on common merit list prepared as per following criteria for each basic discipline offering PG programmes.

• 100% weightage to GATE score. The seat will be allotted based on merit of GATE Score and preference of specialization given by the candidates.
