National Institute of Technology, Durgapur


The National Institute of Technology, Durgapur was established by an Act of Parliament in 1960 as one of the eight such colleges aimed to function as a pace setter for engineering education in the country. Administered by an autonomous Board of Governors, it is fully-funded premier Technological Institution of the Government of India.

The Institute is a Deemed to be University which offers B.Tech., M.C.A.,M.B.A.,M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees. The Institute imparts education in the several disciplines including, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Information Technology and Biotechnology.

Eligibility:
 For Engineering Disciplines:

 

  • B.E. or B.Tech. in Engg./Technology in respective branch of Engg or AMIE(I), AMIIM, AMIIChE by    examination having two year of professional experience.

  • For full-time courses, candidates will have to qualify in GATE, conducted by IITs. They shall have to appear   for interview/viva-voce for final selection.

  • Unemployed Non-GATE candidates may be considered for   admission to the full-time courses subject to the availability of seats but they will not be entitled to   scholarship. Non-GATE candidates for full-time courses will be selected through written college admission test and interview.
