The National Institute of Technology, Durgapur was established by an Act of Parliament in 1960 as one of the eight such colleges aimed to function as a pace setter for engineering education in the country. Administered by an autonomous Board of Governors, it is fully-funded premier Technological Institution of the Government of India.
The Institute is a Deemed to be University which offers B.Tech., M.C.A.,M.B.A.,M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees. Eligibility: For Engineering Disciplines:
B.E. or B.Tech. in Engg./Technology in respective branch of Engg or AMIE(I), AMIIM, AMIIChE by examination having two year of professional experience.
For full-time courses, candidates will have to qualify in GATE, conducted by IITs. They shall have to appear for interview/viva-voce for final selection.
Unemployed Non-GATE candidates may be considered for admission to the full-time courses subject to the availability of seats but they will not be entitled to scholarship. Non-GATE candidates for full-time courses will be selected through written college admission test and interview.
