National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NITC) is state of the art national institution reckoned across the globe for technical education in India. Eligibility for admission in M.Tech ProgrammeIn order to meet the eligibility criteria, the aspirant is supposed have passed the four year regular full time B.E/B.Tech degree with an aggregate 60% marks (for General) and 50% for SC/ST along with a valid GATE score in allied discipline/Branch given below. Candidates who are under lateral entry must have cleared the three year diploma with first class and SC/ST with second class.

Selection of Candidates
Individual call letters are sent to the candidates for counseling/admission (for GATE qualified candidates) and for Test/Interview for those aspirants who have applied for M.Sc. (Tech) sponsored candidates, foreign nationals and sons and daughters of NRI’s as per the schedule. Additionally, those who are called for counseling/admission have to produce the original certificates and documents. Candidates offered seat in the college have to remit the fees on the day of counseling.
M. Tech. Programmes- For those who have qualified GATE, selection is done as per the GATE score and availability of seats. Sponsered candidates, foreign nationals and dependants of NRIs, GATE score is not required. Therefore, the selection of these candidates is done on the marks in the qualifying examination or performance in the interview.
M.Sc.(Tech.) Programmes- Selection of the candidate is done as per the marks achieved by the candidate in the qualifying examination and performance in the test and interview.
