The authorities of IIT-K are making all possible efforts to ensure smooth conduct of  exams and keep the fake examinees at bay ahead of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) scheduled for April 10. Sources say Munna Bhais, a popular term derived from the Hindi blockbuster for fake examinees, often
appear in examinations every year.

The officials in-charge of exams are making fool proof methods to tackle the problem.They have already taken measures to ensure that the right candidate appear in the examination. No institution would be made examination centre which fail to fulfill the required norms of the examination centres as per the JEE rules.

The IIT-K has summoned a meeting of all the zonal coordinators and the directors of the different IITs on February 21 at the IIT-k campus to chalk out a fool proof strategy with a common consensus. According to IIT-K sources, about 482018 candidates would appear for the JEE from all the zones this year.

As many as 84845 candidates ,which constitutes the highest number, are from zone falling under Mumbai.The lowest number of 57573 candidates are from the zone covered under Kuwait.  From Kanpur zone,there are 81970 candidates.

It was expected that there would be a sharp increase in the number of applicants this year at the JEE following the reduction in the fee. But only a marginal increase of 3000 candidates was witnessed this year in comparison to last year’s figure.

Only 450000 candidates had appeared at the JEE last year. According to the director of the IIT-K  Sanjay G Dhande there was no change in the syllabus of the JEE. The question paper would be on the last year’s pattern and it would be student friendly.
