The PG department of St Aloysius College is organizing a two-day science academies lecture workshop on `Genes, genomics and proteomics' here from Friday. The workshop is sponsored and supported by three national science academies -- IASc, Bangalore, INSA, New Delhi, and NASI, Allahabad. The lecture session is intended for benefit of students and teachers at undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels.

The workshop has the following resource persons -- V Nagaraja, fellow of the Science Academy, Bangalore and head of department of microbiology and cell biology department, who is the convener of this workshop. Dr Nagaraja will be accompanied by three professors -- Umesh Varshney, Usha Vijayaragahavan, and Saumitra Das from his own department, and Utpal Tatu from department of biochemistry, IISc, Bangalore.
