well moment of inertia in rotational motion is analgous to mass in linear motion... moment of inertia is the measurement of the resistance of a body to change its rotational motion..

well soumava take an element on the rod .say dx..at a distance x from one side of rod. di=dm.r(square)..as rod is uniform so dm=m/l(dx)..note here r=perpendicular distance of element from axis... use all these concept ...integrate the relation from zero to l and u ll get the solution..
