ARVINND THIAGRAJAN (Topper JEE ?01 & REE ?01)
Arvind son of an iit iim graduate, scored 96.4% in CBSE XIIth standard board examination with centuries in PCM. He reprseneted India as a part of 5 member contingent to participate in the international Physics Olympiad at Antalya turkey in June ?01. ?I have made mistakes and kept learning from them? says arvind. His suggestion to aspirants are:
?Enjoy working towards your goal slowly build up confidence by gaining conceptual knowledge which can be done by more and more practice. Work out problems on your own without referring to their solutions impatiently. Read the question carefully and understand what is asked or implied before rushing to apply a concept associated with it or solving it. Be aware of the close inter-relation between problems especially in maths and how the logic of one problem can be extended in solving the another. Scoring high in chemistry is a must for topping jee, no doubt, all the same emphasis is to be laid on physics and maths. Expect an element of surprise in the JEE paper and face the exam with confidence trying to solve as much you can in given time. Remember completing a paper may not be possible and the time calculations part may have to be omitted to complete the conceptual parts of other questions which may carry more weightage.?
