It took me really longtime for my new article to come, actually my engineering overload denied to me write something which would help you all. So before I start I would like to thank you all for the overwhelming response that I got from you all. Basically this article is for droppers, but that doesn’t means that it’s not beneficial for regular students. So here I go.
Dreams are something that always has an uncertainty of their completion. For some it becomes true but for others it doesn’t. They have to go for a second try. IIT is also a dream of that kind for which you might have to wait i.e. drop a year. By this time you must’ve decided whether you’ll be dropping or not. As you all know that life nothing without planning. If you don’t believe it just recollect when you went for a movie, didn’t you plan??
Similarly it is required to plan to crack the toughest exam in the world. Planning is basically is defeating you enemy my dividing it in small parts and the ruling them. Below is shown a plan, which tells you what all chapters you’ve to read in a particular month.
This is not a simple plan but a lot of work has been put into it so that student is not stressed & the things come in proper manner. As you can notice that September is stressful month but all other months are of equal load so that it is very easy. September has been loaded the most as it has simple chapters and to bring the student back into the groove of studying.
This portion completes what and when to study. Now the portion remains is how to study. It’s very simple. Study the theory first from NCERT then consult any coaching institute material. Then go through examples and then solve about 100 questions from that chapter. It’s that easy and according to me it’ll be enough. The number of questions can be altered as per the importance of the chapter. And one more important thing, if you get stuck in solving a particular question, consult the portion of the text to which it is related and then try again and please please please don’t see the solution, as it’ll hamper your thought process.
After looking the academic portion during the drop year, One must also be careful towards his daily routine. I found a routine that I followed and I all of them loved to whom it was suggested.
| 6 AM | Wake up, fresh up, go for morning walk in a park |
| 7 -10 AM | 1 hour each of P,M and C (in the order written) |
| 10 AM | Breakfast |
| 11 – 2 | 1 hour each of M,C and P (in the order written) |
| 2-5 | Lunch and rest |
| 5- 6 | Playground |
| 6-9 | 1 hour each of C,M and P (in the order written) |
| 9-11 | Dinner and do whatever you feel like |
| 11-12 | Revision of the whole day and go to sleep |
Above plan is suggested for Monday to Saturday while on Sunday just study for 3 hours, 1 hour for each subject in which you’ll revise what you’ve studied throughout the week. While the last day of the month is also for revision of 9 hrs, 3hrs each subject following the same above plan.
I have included some chapters that are not in the IIT course so that one can be prepared for other competitions as life is of uncertainty.
