An explosion of publicity for McMahon? WWE chief?s limo bomb all for show
Though World Wrestling Entertainment would have you believe otherwise, the answer is no.
?No one was in any danger,? said Steve Poremba, a Wachovia Arena spokesman, of Monday night?s WWE RAW spectacle at the arena, though he would not elaborate.
A WWE spokesman echoed that, but also wouldn?t elaborate, instead pointing to a news release from the company and ?reports? on its Web site. The release inferred that celebrities who have ?less than flattering things to say about? McMahon, including real estate mogul Donald Trump, sportscaster Bob Costas, rapper Snoop Dogg and wrestler ?Stone Cold? Steve Austin, might be behind a plot to bump him off.
Despite articles on the Web site that firefighters and federal agents are investigating, workers at the Luzerne County 911 Center confirmed that it was ?a stunt? and that no emergency vehicles were called to the arena on Monday night.
?The ?federal agent? (referenced on the Web site) is definitely not the FBI,? said Jerri Williams, a special agent spokeswoman with the FBI?s Philadelphia office. ?We have not been made aware of any car bombings. ? We would definitely have been informed.?
But fans from across the country have been contacting local media to find out if McMahon, the chairman of the board of WWE, was actually blown up in a fiery limo-bombing on his so-called ?Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night,? which was televised on USA Network. McMahon had walked out of the building to the waiting vehicle, so fans inside the arena saw the same televised live scene.
Only it was wasn?t live. Supervised by Zenith Pyrotechnology, based in Deer Park, N.Y., the explosion was actually filmed at the arena late Saturday night, the footage of the burning hulk taped Sunday night and the whole mess spliced together, said Andy Kratz, the township?s zoning officer.
?They did it, I believe, at 11 o?clock at night until 3 a.m., so no one would be around,? he said, adding that it was done in a section generally blocked from public view by the building and surrounding land features.
The pyrotechnics company had to get permits, which Kratz said it did about a week ago. ?We have pyrotechnics shows in the arena all the time? for wrestling and ice skating, among other things, he said. ?They say they do this quite a bit,? but usually not outside.
Representatives of the pyrotechnics company have not returned calls for comment.
Based on reaction from fans, who expressed indignation with the stunt, the story hook could instead hook itself.
?It?s messed up. A death is a serious matter,? said Kenny Noe, of Lakewood, Wash. ?Wrestling is not about death. It?s about beating people up, maybe getting hurt.?
He referenced the actual deaths of several wrestling personalities in the past and said this incident casts a shadow over their memories. ?What if Eddie Guerrero isn?t dead??
?For (McMahon) to do something like this is ridiculous, if it?s a hoax,? Chris Dent of New Freedom, Pa., said, ?? because the American public?s gonna wind up not watching his shows and it?s going to go down hill,? he said.
Still, they also agreed that the stunt will cause a buzz. ?It?s just kind of weird, and my friends are probably going to be talking to me all day,? Dent said.

Details How WWE Pulled Off Last Night?s Explosion
Reported by Ryan Gray on 06/12/2007
TNAHeadlines.com - Breaking TNA News, Spoilers, Photos & More!
Source - PWInsider
Last night?s stunt with Vince McMahon being blown up in the limousine was actually filmed Sunday evening. WWE brought in an outside stunt company to come in and set the entire thing up. The stunt was planned over the last two weeks, with WWE having to obtain a few permits.
When McMahon walked outside and got in the limo last night, it was live but they spliced the cable to show the taped footage. For fans coming out of the arena last night they had the burnt limo husk from the one used in the stunt on display.
WWE.com is going along with the storyline that forensic experts are examining the limo for the remains of Mr. McMahon?s body.
Remember to check out the official forums of PWMania. We have thousands of members and posts featuring wrestling multimedia, hot babes and lots more. Check us out at PWMForums.com.
He didn't I read in newspaper. It said that they pulled the stunt off a few hours before people even got seated. There was a trap door under the car and a hole in the limo. We was safe.
This storyline sucks. I mean anyone whos anyone knows that it is a hoax. WWE planned the outcome really badly, they didn't contact any media before had telling them it was a fake incident but want it to be "real" for a time anyway. But maybe the WWE wanted negative press about it, saying it was a hoax and Mr McMahon is alive and well, so that it makes WWE stand out. Any publicity is good publicity, hell we know McMahon goes by that..
Mid-Day Note: In search of Vince McMahon - 06/13/2007 06:51 AM
For all of you who have e-mailed me today, let me just say this: As far as we know, everything that went on last night at Wachovia Arena was part of the show.
For those of you who don't follow professional wrestling (and count me among that group), Vince McMahon and his troupe of professional wrestlers made an appearance at the arena last night for a WWE Raw broadcast. From what I understand, at the weekly show's conclusion, McMahon stepped into a limo that was then shown as exploding on the arena's video screen.
Evidently, professional wrestling fans who have been e-mailing me this morning fear that McMahon is dead.
Rest assured, if McMahon had been killed last night at the arena, it would have been reported on more than just professional wrestling Web sites. The county coroner would have been called to the arena, along with a slew of law enforcement officials.
You see, when someone is killed in an explosion these days, it usually draws a lot of interest. So if you are really that interested in McMahon's fate, stay tuned to WWE broadcasts. Or check out the Times Leader tomorrow. Staff Writer Rory Sweeney is talking to a few people who know all about the explosion
http://rajah.com/base/node/8196... http://www.timesleader.com/news/breaking... http://www.wrestlingnews.com/1/2/wwe/how...
To follow up on how WWE taped the exploding limo footage, WWE had a team of professional stunts from Zenith Pyrotechnology heading up the operation. Permits to produce the stunt was acquired a week ago which made for great timing considering The Sopranos ended on Sunday with what many people consider an unsatisfying finale according to Andy Kratz who was involved with the stunt.
With the beauty of video editing, WWE managed to combine the footage taped on Saturday and Sunday as well as the live feed into one dramatic scene.
If you look closely, you will notice that while Vince is walking towards the limo, there is no water next to the car on the floor while once the shot was cut from a different angle you can notice water on the floor. The scene was then cut to the pre-taped segment once the angle was switched, with one take of Mr. McMahon coming in and closing the door and one take from the exact angle the limo exploding.

By the way to tell you the truth i think its a bunch of C-R-A-P! Yeah vince stepped in his limo then boom it explodes and there was a camera man standing there! Come on folks the limo exploded at the very end of the show! If that was happening for real it would have exploded like 45 minutes before the show ended! Thats a disgrace! Just to fake a death like that to make wwe more popular. And thats like making fun of the really dead superstars Eddie Guererro, Mr. Perfect, Junkyard Dog and so on. Man #@$% that fake $h!t. I dont know why i still watch it. It was better when they had the rock, stone cold, mick foley, bret hart, and hulk hogan where stuff didnt seem fake. Now all of these newcomers mvp, mr kennedy, elijah burk, santino marella, umaga, and khali make it so obvious that its fake. Besides if mcmahon really died they would have said it on the news, espn, and sports magazines. It dont even say on wikipedia that he died. In fact on wikipedia it says that it was PART OF THE STORYLINE! They should be talking about Sensational Sherri's death. I think that wwe shouls be sued for faking a wwe death when there was really a wwe death. Fake bull crap!

Check out the wwe site man. Didn't I say Vince is not dead ? But the sad and tragic new is that Chris Benoit is dead. So don't mourn for Vince Mcmahon ........think about benoit . Well Benoit is really dead. According to the updated news from wwe, Benoit killed his wife and 7-year-old son over the weekend, then himself on Monday. I personally feel Chris Benoit was one of the best of all times. I grew up watching Chris Benoit become a world champion.I feel sorry for that man's and his familiy's tragic end .
If you check the site , in the result section of RAW , Vince Mcmohan made an official statement of Chris Benoit's death and this week?s Raw was dedicated in loving memory to Chris Benoit and his family. Instead of the planned broadcast, Raw was a three-hour retrospective on the career of the ?Rabid Wolverine.?
You will see there are no fans in the arena just the collar commentators and Vince himself as being the Chairman came down to the ring and said few words on the outstanding career of Benoit.
In terms of W W E , the Mcmahon is dead but not officially .

You flipssyde ....shut up .This is not the time to apologise or cry or getting angry. If you want to cry due to my seemingly slang words on you then cry somewhere or someday else. Now since the chairman is alive, he has made special comments on the future hall of famer Chris Benoit. So lets pay tribute to the career of the man who was the only man to ever step into the ring with focus and goal and to keep the spirit of the name which he got - " The Rapid Wolverine ".
